From the moment you arrive, you will be able to enjoy this trip as much as your students.  Amish Acres friendly and professional staff will greet your bus and get you organized to make your class field trip on the farm one to remember! Area Schools plan old fashioned field trips to Amish Acres for the educational and cultural experiences of the Restored Farmstead and Round Barn Theatre. School buses bring classes from near and far for seasonal tours, dinners, and Theatre for Young Audiences. Amish Acres’ greeters help organize and review itineraries with teachers during their visit. Use the School field trip activities planner to make your visit easy and simple.

Because Amish Acres is the only Old Order Amish farm listed in the National Register of Historic Places, it is the one authentic place where teachers can bring students to learn firsthand from the architecture, husbandry, farming techniques, traditional food, and historic interpretation presented on the farm by guides through planned programs. The contrast between visiting students’ lives and the ongoing lives of the Old Order Amish can be seen vividly, touched, smelled, and experienced in an educational and entertaining setting.

Theatre For Young Audiences - Theatre for Young Audiences for many students is their first encounter with live theatre. They, as audience members, play an important role in the performance since; again, it is live, not one of their videos or a taped show on TV. These are 60-minute musicals which include a question and answer session. The outing can also include a farm tour, wagon ride, and the Little Threshers Dinner.
